On Friday, I was featured on one end of the Rockstar Finance Money Match-ups. In the ring, I was joined by Millionaire Mob. And our topic? Side hustles, of course!
Rockstar Finance Money Match-Up: Side Hustles
The Rockstar Finance Money Match-Ups are an opportunity for two bloggers to argue one side of a common personal finance related topic. When Millionaire Mob proposed the “you should have a side hustle” argument, I had to take the bait. I am all for side hustles if it makes sense and fits into your life. But I also believe that side hustles are not for everyone and can, at times, be a detriment to one’s life and finances. So… I decided to write about a few of the side hustle downsides.
Wait, Didn’t You Just Start a Side Hustle?!?
Um, yes. Full transparency, I wrote the money match-up post (and my “we don’t side hustle” post) before I knew I would be starting an Etsy Shop. I had tossed around the idea before and thought it might be fun, but I had not taken any actions to start a side hustle. But, as I like to say, always an adventure 😉 Sometime between writing these posts and now, Mr. Adventure Rich and I decided to join the FIRE Drill Podcast Digital Download Mastermind. Ironic, huh?
I still stand behind what I wrote in the money match-up. Side hustles are not for everyone. And each individual, especially those tuned into the personal finance world, should be able to make their own decision as to whether or not a side hustle is right for their situation… guilt free! 🙂
How did you like the match up? Would you add any arguments either way?
Always an Adventure,
Mrs. Adventure Rich
